主角国崎秀悟和双胞胎妹妹玲奈因为得到.hack的限定
角色——凯特和黑玫瑰，开始玩网络游戏The World。
进入游戏后发生一系列奇异事件，秀悟被不死的怪物
杀死后，遇见阿乌娜，并得到黄昏之腕轮，拥有了名
为“数据抽取”的能力。随着剧情的发展，咒纹使米
雷优、神拳凰花也加入队伍中，为探索导致玩家无法
登出并在现实中昏迷的原因……
最终兄妹二人合力使用黄昏之腕轮，击败了幕后元凶
——想体验“真正的死亡”的流浪AI。
人物设计得很Q版，更有骇客时空中的人物银汉、苍天
的巴鲁蒙克友情客串……
